The Supreme Court has made it clear that the guidelines issued by it regarding the ban on firecrackers are not limited to Delhi NCR only. Rather, it applies to all states of the country.

The court also said that it is the responsibility of the state governments to take necessary steps to curb air pollution and noise pollution.

After the order of the Supreme Court, it has become clear that if green firecrackers are allowed to be lit in any state on Diwali, then only green crackers can be lit.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court on the problem of increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul has given strict orders to the governments of Punjab, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan to stop stubble burning immediately.
