Chandra Grahan 2023 : Doors of temples to be closed tomorrow at 4 pm, worship will be done on Sunday

Due to the lunar eclipse on Saturday, the doors of the temple in Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be closed at 4 pm. During this time, all subordinate temples of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee will remain closed.

Committee chairman Ajendra Ajay said that the eclipse will start at 1.04 am on October 28. Temples will be closed nine hours ago due to the sutak period. On Sunday, October 29, after purification in the morning, the temples will open in Brahmamuhurta and all the pujas including Mahaabhishek, Rudraabhishek will be completed.

Rajbhog will be held at 11 am on Saturday and the temple will be cleaned. The temple will remain closed till 2 pm. The temple will be reopened at 2 pm and there will be an evening aarti. After this, the doors of the temple will be closed at four o’clock.

At the same time, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will also be closed, which will be opened on Sunday the next day. Harish Semwal, president of Shri Panch Gangotri Temple Committee, said that the doors of gangotri temple will be closed between 4 pm and 4.15 pm on Saturday. The evening aarti will also be done before four o’clock. After the lunar eclipse, the doors will be opened directly at 4 am the next day.
