Synopsis : A Filipino migrant worker, who works at a factory in South Korea to provide for his family in Antique province, Philippines, sees in his dream that his late grandmother calls him to return to the Philippines in order to continue their family tradition of healing. From the next day, strange things happen to him and he wanders the city of Pusan following the voice that haunts him.

Kasila | 25 minutes | 2007
Synopsis : Kasila”, a Maguindanaon term for chili, the film tells the story of the piquant burning taste of life’s experiences for Meriam. An unwitting victim to armed hostilities in Central Mindanao, Meriam is forced to face the challenges in her life including fleeing from the war, death of a husband and a son, separation from another child during evacuation and suffering the indignity of spending life in an evacuation center.

Bio : Sherwin is a Davao based film maker responsible for the film Kasila. His uncanny concern for the conflict in Mindanao drove him to shoot the film and tell the world their story. Aside from being a director, he is also a video editor, and graphic artist in a non-government office in Mindanao.

Synopsis : A story that digs deep into Philippine folklore to tell the story of two worlds meeting at the most unusual of moments. A young child, Anna, born and bred in the city goes to the province of her mom to meet her relatives. A hostile brush with her older bully cousins leads her to the forest with her faithful dog, Rambo, and there she ends up encountering an extraordinary supernatural experience.

Bio : Born in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on May 1, 1982, Ramon del Prado is a self-taught 2D animator, filmmaker and graphic designer. He moved to Manila at age 17 and graduated from De La Salle University- Manila in 2003 under the Communications Arts Programs where he received his Outstanding Graduate Thesis Award for his first major film, “Egg”. He recently founded Tuldok Animation Studio.
Parang Sirang Plaka | 2007 | 18 minutes
Synopsis : Leo, an 18-year-old student, finds out that their old phonograph can still play music. His uncle, Marvin, a drug-runner, tells him how much he adored the old phonograph when he was a child. Leo wanted to become a radio DJ but was not able pursue it because his mother wants him to study nursing Despite his frustration, he knows that everything he has accomplished is for the benefit of his loved ones. On the other hand, his uncle Marvin does not seem to notice he is getting old with nothing but debt. For Marvin, life goes around and around until it gets scratches and brings nothing more than a deafening hiss.

Bio : Real S. Florido is currently working as a junior writer for GMA-7 and QTV 11 Entertainment TB group. “Saan Nagtatago si Happinees?” , Cinemalaya 2006 finalist, was the last film he co-wrote with the film’s director. He was an assistant director for ICU Bed #7, which was one of the nine finalists in the 2005 Cinemalaya.

Bio : Ming Kai Leung has directed several short films, most of which garnered awards from international film festivals. Her film Lock (1997) was an official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival; her next film, Two Girls (2005) won the Top Prize Winner at the China-America Festival of Film and Culture and an official selection at the NY Asian America International Film Festival; and her third film Acting Out (2003), won the Bronze Award of Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards. Aside from directing, she has also been a cinematographer for critically-acclaimed short films such as Graceland (2006), which was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival CinŽfondation and Sundance Film Festival; LÕArrivisite (2005), which was an official selction at the Paris Tout Court Film Festival.

Synopsis : The people we feel most safe with could be the people we should be suspicious of. The story begins with Shirley, a student who was conducting a research about a lost tribe somewhere in Luzon. And although things were going well at first, in the course of her study, an incident in the town caused her to move away from the thing that brought her to them. It was the death of the native's daughter of the family she was staying with that made her decide to discontinue her study for a moment. A man whom the village folks call Nognog was suspected for the crime. Little did she know that this crime wil lead her to the answers she has been longing to get. More stories were being surfaced,more questions were being answered. Her research became one that revealed more than what was asked.

Maritess lives in a small shack and lives a poor but happy life when her husband who was an overseas worker as a sea man and, James, their son. One morning mail comes, bringing news that her husband was lost at sea. Losing her husband and not having a man to provide food or money leaves Maritess and her son fall to hunger which drives Maritess to depression, to insanity

Synopsis : Tres Pas examines the inner lives of three human beings in a trio of enigmatic, fragmentary video-poems. A young man nurtures an exquisite longing for a lost love, while another loses himself in a chemical dream state, and a young woman considers the consequences of an ill-timed arrival. By turns melancholy, lyrical, whimsical, and painful, these episodes are also reflections on the malleability of time, which can stretch out excruciatingly at moments of sadness, inactivity, or indecision.
